The short version: employers post genuine jobs and evaluate candidates fairly and lawfully; candidates apply honestly; everyone keeps ownership of what they upload; and candidates never pay to apply.
1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and 1MinuteResume.com (“1MinuteResume”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the site, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.
If you use 1MinuteResume on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorized to accept these Terms for that company, and “you” includes the company.
2. What 1MinuteResume does
Employers post jobs with screening questions and must-have requirements. Candidates answer in a single recorded video of up to 60 seconds and may attach a résumé. Employers review the applications they receive.
We provide the platform only. We are not an employer, recruiter or employment agency, we don’t take part in hiring decisions, and we don’t guarantee that any candidate will be hired or that any employer will fill a job. We don’t verify every job posting or every statement candidates make.
3. Accounts
You must be at least 16 years old, and old enough to work where the job is located.
Give accurate information and keep it up to date. Each account is either an employer account or a candidate account, and the type can’t be changed later.
Keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account; tell us right away if you think someone else has used it.
One person or company per account. Don’t create accounts for anyone else without their permission, or by automated means.
4. Rules for employers
If you post jobs, you agree that:
Every job is a real, currently open position that you are authorized to fill, and its description, pay and location are accurate.
Your job postings, questions and requirements comply with all applicable laws, including equal-employment and anti-discrimination laws. Don’t ask about, or make decisions based on, race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, pregnancy, veteran status or any other legally protected characteristic.
Candidates appear on video, so you may see or hear things about them that the law says you can’t take into account. You are solely responsible for evaluating candidates lawfully and fairly.
You use applications, videos and résumés only to evaluate candidates for the job they applied to. You won’t sell them, publish them, use them for marketing, or share them outside the people involved in that hiring decision.
If you use any automated or AI tools to evaluate videos you receive, you are responsible for meeting the laws that apply to them, including any notice and consent requirements.
You won’t charge candidates any fee to apply, and you won’t use the service to recruit for schemes, request payment or sensitive financial information from candidates, or post anything that isn’t a genuine job.
You will protect the candidate information you download, and delete it when you no longer need it or when the law requires.
You use messaging only to communicate about the job the candidate applied to, such as scheduling interviews or asking follow-up questions. Don’t use it to advertise, recruit for other businesses, or ask for money, bank details, or identity documents through the chat.
5. Rules for candidates
If you apply for jobs, you agree that:
Your video, answers and résumé are truthful and about you. Don’t impersonate anyone or apply on someone else’s behalf.
Your video shows only you, or people who have agreed to appear in it, and doesn’t include anything you don’t have the right to share.
Each employer may set its own rules, such as a deadline or how many recording attempts you get, and you won’t try to get around them.
Messages are for talking about the job you applied to. Employers start conversations; you can reply once they do. Be wary of anyone who asks you for money or sensitive financial details, and report it to us.
When you submit an application, you are choosing to share it with that employer. What the employer does with it after that is the employer’s responsibility.
6. Your content
You keep ownership of what you upload: videos, résumés, answers, job descriptions and other content (“Your Content”). You give us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, copy, process, display and transmit Your Content only as needed to run the service. For example, this covers storing a candidate’s video and showing it to the employer they applied to, or showing an employer’s job to candidates. This license ends when Your Content is deleted from our systems, except for copies an employer has already received.
You are responsible for Your Content and confirm you have the rights needed to post it. We may remove content that breaks these Terms or the law.
7. Things you must not do
Break the law, or post anything that is false, misleading, discriminatory, harassing, hateful, obscene, or that infringes someone else’s rights.
Upload malware, or try to access accounts, videos or data that aren’t yours.
Scrape, copy or collect information from the site by automated means, or overload or interfere with the service.
Get around security, attempt limits, or any other technical restriction.
Contact users to sell them things, send spam or harassing messages, or use the service for anything other than genuine hiring.
Copy, resell or reverse-engineer the service, or use our name and logo without permission.
8. Fees
1MinuteResume is currently free for candidates and employers. Candidates will never be charged to apply for a job. We may introduce paid plans or features for employers in the future. If we do, we will show the prices clearly and you won’t be charged unless you choose a paid plan.
9. Our service
The site, its design, software, text, graphics, logos and the 1MinuteResume name belong to us or our licensors and are protected by law. These Terms don’t give you any rights to them other than to use the service as intended.
10. Suspending or closing accounts
You can stop using the service and ask us to close your account at any time by emailing sales@1minuteresume.com. We may suspend or close an account, or remove a job or application, if we reasonably believe it breaks these Terms, creates risk for other users or us, or if we are required to by law. Where reasonable, we will tell you why. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as Your Content licenses already used, disclaimers, limits of liability and disputes) continue after an account is closed.
11. Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement. We don’t promise the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, that recordings or uploads will always succeed, or that any job posting, candidate or hiring outcome will be as described or expected.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, 1MinuteResume and its owners, employees and providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost opportunities or hiring decisions, arising from or related to the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US $100.
Some places don’t allow some of these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
13. Your responsibility for claims
You agree to defend and compensate 1MinuteResume for claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) brought by others that arise from Your Content, your use of the service, your hiring decisions (if you are an employer), or your breaking these Terms or the law.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida and applicable US federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, please contact us at sales@1minuteresume.com so we can try to resolve it informally. Any dispute that can’t be resolved informally will be brought only in the state or federal courts located in Lee County, Florida, and you and we consent to those courts’ jurisdiction. Either of us may bring an eligible claim in small-claims court instead.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as the service changes. We will post the new version here with a new effective date, and if the changes are significant we will tell you by email or on the site before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated Terms.
16. General
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the service. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our not enforcing a term isn’t a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a merger or sale of the business.
